建筑幕墙各构件之间由于其材料不同，所以各材料之间要留有一定接缝，为此对这些接缝处理是保证建筑幕墙性能的关键，幕墙材料之间的接缝一种是通过机械连接并辅以密封材料，另一种是通过结构粘接而实现的，而接缝必须有一定抗变形位移能力，所以幕墙接缝MS密封胶位移能力级别应符合设计位移量的要求，不宜小于20级，并且按相关标准规范选择MS密封胶又必须在有效期内使用。

建筑幕墙接缝密封主要是幕墙所用材料之间和幕墙与建筑结构之间的接缝密封。接缝密封设计首先确定接缝的构造、位置和接缝宽度，计算出接缝的位移量，然后根据接缝密封材料具有的位移能力进行修正，设计出安全的接缝宽度。

确定接缝位移量，设计必须首先给定构件的长度或体积，确定在接缝部位可能发生的位移变化，即接缝的位移量。最大温差位移量:

初选胶缝宽8mm , 20LMMS密封胶，其胶缝最大变位8x20=1.6mm<1.68mm;

改用胶缝宽8mm , 25 LMMS密封胶，其胶缝最大变位8x25=2.Omm>1.68mm;

或改用胶缝宽10(9)mm , 20LMMS密封胶，其胶缝最大变位10x20=2.Omm> 1.68mm ;
