近年来市场上涌现出胶条法生产的中空玻璃，即由一个波浪型铝带外加一层丁基防水嵌缝胶构成(此类亦应属单道密封工艺)。由于胶条的主体材料是丁基(或聚异丁烯)类热熔型丁基防水嵌缝胶，这类丁基防水嵌缝胶虽说只有气密性好和快速固化的特点，但其在加热、加压的条件下与玻璃形成一个非化学粘接表层，粘接性能较差，加之其结构强度较低，在使用中受温度影响较大，存在着遇热易蠕变、低温下易变硬、抗位移变形能力差的问题。
