从表3可以看出:MS密封胶的水蒸气透过率是聚硫胶的近3一6倍，说明聚硫密封胶有更好的水蒸气阻隔能力，理论上估计，采用两种材料制备相同规格的中空玻璃时，聚硫密封胶的有效使用寿命约是MS密封胶的3一6倍。

以下是针对国内早期采用聚硫密封胶制作的中空玻璃的部分工程案例进行长期跟踪情况，如表5所示。

从表5可以看出，采用聚硫密封胶制作的中空玻璃已在国内诸多工程成功应用30年左右，且效果良好，事实证明了采用聚硫类密封胶制备的中空玻璃具有较长的使用寿命。

1)大部分MS密封胶的性能不满足GB/T29755-2013《中空玻璃用弹性密封胶》的要求;而测试的聚硫胶完全满足该标准，聚硫胶的性能明显优于MS密封胶。

2) MS密封胶因其与玻璃的粘合强度低，弹性差、老化后性能差，用于中空玻璃后易造成玻璃脱粘、开裂，导致中空玻璃出现漏水、漏气等提前失效现象;而聚硫密封胶性能完全满足GB/T29755-2013《中空玻璃用弹性密封胶》标准，且其水蒸气透过率值是MS密封胶的1/6一1/3，说明聚硫密封胶有更好的水蒸气阻隔能力，理论上估计，采用两种材料制备相同规格的中空玻璃时，聚硫密封胶的有效使用寿命约是MS密封胶的3一6倍。

3)聚硫胶应用于中空玻璃时，比MS密封胶更P能环保。
