丁基防水嵌缝胶是用来填充孔洞、接缝等间隙的膏状材料，它固化后将基材连接成一个整体，具有防水、防尘、防风、防雾等功能。目前高性能丁基防水嵌缝胶有3类:聚硫、硅酮和聚氨醋。聚氨醋{PU丁基防水嵌缝胶具有强度高、抗撕裂、柔软耐磨、耐穿刺、耐油、耐介质腐蚀等特点;缺点是固化时释放出二氧化碳使胶层产生气泡甚至裂纹影响密封效果，固化速度较慢且表面容易发戮，在玻璃及金属等无孔材料上使用时需要底涂，不能长期耐湿热和耐老化，长期储存稳定性不好。硅酮(SR)丁基防水嵌缝胶具有固化快，不起泡，能与无孔材料表面牢固粘接，耐湿热、耐老化性能优异，储存稳定性好等特点;缺点是装饰性差，不能涂漆，撕裂强度低，不耐穿刺，胶层易产生油状渗析物污染混凝土、石材及其他饰物，价格较贵。如果能有效地将二者的优点结合起来，克服其缺点带来的性能损失，就能合成出性能更加优良的丁基防水嵌缝胶，硅烷改性聚氨醋(SPU)技术就是一个很好的解决方法。

SPU基防水嵌缝胶中一般不含有机溶剂，符合环保要求;其在不施用底胶的粘接范围已从无孔材料(如玻璃、金属等基材)扩展到工程塑料(如聚氯乙烯、丙烯睛一丁二烯一苯乙烯共聚物、聚苯乙烯和聚丙烯酸醋等)，从一般的基材表面扩展到各种面漆(如丙烯酸醋类、环氧类、聚氨醋类和瓷漆类等漆面)，应用前景非常广阔。该技术国外研究非常活跃，国内研究相对较少。www.sdyuantai.com
